Erin O’Toole: I encourage Canadians to join with the Coptic community and celebrate Coptic Heritage week
Due to the announcement of the last week of May as Coptic Heritage Week, Erin O’Toole launched a statement about it and how he feels:
“For the first time in Canada, this week will be a celebration of one of the most ancient cultures that goes back to the first century 2000 years ago. The Coptic Heritage art, archaeology, architecture, music, and the ancient Egyptian language. Today coptology is a course that is delivered at many Canadian universities. The Egyptian Coptic Orthodox Church is considered a beacon of Christianity around the world. Christianity and Egypt are rich tapestry woven in thousands of threads including the lives of the Saints and martyrs and the establishment and development of monastic life. Canada is home to over 200,000 cops who brought their beautiful cultural heritage to this country. I’m happy to see this Heritage recognized in Canada. I encourage all Canadians to join with the Coptic community and celebrate Coptic Heritage week and Global Coptic day”.
