Mark Hanna writes: Above the tempest sea
How can we ever become secure Knowing how limited we can endure Greatness and majesty like no other Majesty which makes our minds wither He loved us before we ever did He also loved us despite our sin By death he came and trampled death Through death he gave us a new breath One night I sat and sought to gaze Towards the stars my heart was raised The clouds were Grey and very thick Rain was falling like heavy brick I sought to see but could not see I sought to feel but could not feel The mist was heavy and the night long I wondered whether I’ll ever belong I longed for the stars and their beautiful light But all I found was a dark night In despair I thought to sleep Perhaps I might see them in a dream I closed the blinds and darkness spread Light was absent and fear set As I slept through the long night I dreamed of regaining my poor sight During the day I was able to see Light and colour but none was real Another night was now at sight I thought tonight I would see the light But In despair I thought to sleep Perhaps I might see them in a dream The sun arose the following day The world was filled with a bright ray That day I walked and walked and walked Seeking to be where I belonged As evening set I had to cease My mind was now a bit at ease I found a mountain like no other The mountain was bright with many colours I set my bag and sat in silence Seeking the heavens away from violence The world was loud and often cold Day by day my life rolled As I sat on top of the world I sought freedom through his word As night time came I could now feel Joy and majesty that felt so real As the mist began to seek my heart I hoped my cry would be heard As darkness set I cried in fear Lord have mercy on your dear Darkness was now everywhere I cried with hope in my despair A star I thought my eyes could see Rising afar above the sea Little by little I could now see Wonder and majesty above the sea I prayed for my spirit to be released My mind was now at great ease A beautiful dove was now free Flying freely above the sea The dove was singing a beautiful tune
While at night it stared towards the moon Morning came and in my room I rose in hope the flower blooms Every night thereafter I sat in wonder Gazing at the stars as my heart wonders How Great is he the one who sought The broken dove which never fought In darkness I lived and could not see But he came for me and I could now feel He loved us before we ever did He also loves us despite our sins The broken dove is now free Singing a melody above the sea
